Urbino Torricini
The Torricini, the famous towers of the Ducal Palace façade in Urbino, have been under restoration for over two years. They will soon be ready to be seen again, the “unwrapping” began and in Urbino everybody is excited.
The 550 years old Urbino Torricini, designed by the Architect Luciano Laurana between 1467 and 1472, were not built facing the town, but towards the roads that come from Tuscany and from Rome to impress whoever came near Urbino.

Nowadays if you arrive to Urbino coming from Rome you will not see them because the modern roads approach Urbino from the East, but you can still drive along the old road that connected the Roman Flaminia road to Urbino enjoying the best sight! Come visit and I will point you to the secret road!
